The Victorian Inspectorate (VI) may, at any time, make recommendations to Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission (IBAC) on any action that it considers should be taken (including action concerning IBAC personnel). It may also require IBAC to provide a written report in response to the recommendation/s made.
The VI is also empowered to recommend that action be taken by:
- the Auditor-General (including action relevant to the conduct of VAGO officers)
- the Victorian Ombudsman (including action concerning Ombudsman officers)
- the Chief Examiner (and Examiners)
- the Victorian Information Commissioner (including actions concerning OVIC officers)
As with the IBAC, the VI may also require a written report in response from the above bodies.
The VI may also make recommendations to the Judicial Commission of Victoria relating to guidelines and may request a report in response to the recommendations.
